Beauty Tips From the Cosmetic Guru’s from Make-Up Pro New York NYFW│FW17

I fought a killer and didn’t even smudge my make-up.
― Rose Pressey, Flip That Haunted House

Pretty much sums up NYFW but with the right tools → your make-up can become your next best accessory! Like the queen of all models, Tyra says:

I love the confidence that make-up gives me.

Make-up is a form of art that enables us to enhance the beauty we already poses. You have beautiful lips — a color will make them pop. Your eye lashes are your own and already visible — a mascara, a colorful one even, will create a dramatic effect. You are beautiful and make-up is meant to extenuate your features so have fun with.

Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.
― Gwyneth Paltrow

During the busy hustle and bustle of NYFW — once again backstage was my favorite scene to be involved in. Especially when they put you in the chair and glam you up!

Partner and Co-Founder of Make-Up Pro New York, Cheve Chan shared these tips with us doosts ↓

Doost → What were your 3 essentials when it came to cosmetics for these NYFW shows?

The 3 essentials; collagen, our Camouflage Concealer Cream and lip treatment.

Doost →  What was the theme with Denibi?

For Denibi’s look, we were inspired to achieve a very natural and glowing look, an homage to their approach on minimalism with their collections.

Doost →  What was your favorite moment?

This season’s makeup and collections were extremely clean and fresh. We loved the way creatives come together to create a massive and inspiring show. Not to mention, we had the honor of working with Denibi, it doesn’t get any better than that!

Doost →  How did you keep calm in all the chaos?

We have a spectacular team and communication has played a vital role in what we do. It’s what keeps us calm, cool and collected!

Doost →  Do you have any tip(s) for professionals stepping into this industry?

Practice makes perfect, better yet, perfect practice makes perfect. Always apply new skills and continuously improve your current ones. Be prepared for any circumstance that comes your way. Lastly, listen and understand the art direction, these shows are a vision, and as a makeup artist, you’re a part of that masterpiece.

Doost →  Anything else you’d like to add for our readers?

Whether you’re an enthusiast, a student or a professional, remember that you need to have fun with makeup. It’s a vehicle to let your imagination run wild and when that happens, you’ll be having a blast.

And that indeed! A special thanks to the team for inviting me and making me look oh so glam ♥ Loved my finished look but even more so how much fun we had backstage.

Lipstick is really magical. It holds more than a waxy bit of color – it holds the promise of a brilliant smile, a brilliant day, both literally and figuratively.
