It’s nice to drift off into lala dream land but it’s just as important to know when to come back. Some people think that sleep cycles are a myth, but there is a science to it. The places we travel to when we shut our eyes are more elaborate and imaginative than reality. I love dreaming but I hate under or over sleeping. Both have the same effect AND here’s the solution!

These days I have too much packed into one day and I’ve neglected one of my favorite past times, sleeping. The body needs rest and a good amount of it. People have studied the stages and cycles for years and found that too much sleep is just as bad for you as too little. WebMD breaks down what a sleep cycle consists of:

I found a website, sleepyti.me, that allows you to calculate your bedtime. It tells you the best times to fall asleep depending on what time you need to wake up in the morning.

This is how the website works: Sleepyti.me provides the right time to fall asleep with options. Let’s say I have to wake up at 7AM tomorrow my options of falling asleep are 10:00 PM or 11:30 PM or 1:00 AM or 2:30 AM

 The average human takes fourteen minutes to fall asleep, so plan accordingly!

sleepyti.me works by counting backwards in sleep cycles. Sleep cycles typically last 90 minutes.Waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle leaves you feeling tired and groggy, but waking up in between cycles lets you wake up feeling refreshed and alert!

The reaction I get when I boast about the site is pretty consistent, people don’t take it too seriously. But with enough persuasion and a one time try-out people are hooked. Ansley Marie Dawson had this to say after I urged her to try the site last night. She had to be at work at 8 AM today.
