Copenhagen Top 10 Travel Tips

Copenhagen Top 10 Travel Tips

Welcome to Copenhagen♡

This sweet city of Denmark is a vibrantly colorful and historic burst of energy. At Copenhagen’s core, there is community. This is the most beautiful way of life — where needs are met for the better of the people more than the individual.

These are my top 10 travel tips:

➊ Get a hot dog — street vendor style!

And most importantly — get yourself a fransk (french) hotdog!

➋ Indulge in their danishes — we had our first one from a market in Vesporo, and even though it’s from a supermarket — it was better than any danish we’ve had in America.

pastries, best pastries, la glace, denmark danishes, travel tips, what to eat in copenhagen, desserts, danish, Go to Conditori La Glace for an unforgettable experience. The place inside is pretty big but still, the line goes around the block.

If you don’t have time, I recommend getting a ticket inside and ordering to go — that’s what we did. There are beautiful benches outside you could sit and enjoy your pasty.

➌ Rent bikes — even if it is for just a day! Seriously — the best form of transportation as well as exercise. I love this because it was yet another excuse for me to eat more 🙂 Just be careful not to overdo it because you’ll end up with a sore bum.

➍ See the Little Mermaid! – Crafted in 1913 to honor the character in local hero Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytale that was made popular again by Disney, this statue is one of the most popular attractions in the city. She has faced adversity including having her head chopped off a couple times and being painted multiple times by vandals, but the city always restores her to glory because of her importance.

➎ Have breakfast at Hotel SP34 — it’s organic, with lots of variety, great service, and welcoming atmosphere. It’s from 7-10 am every day!

If you’re a guest at the hotel, it’s complimentary. Just another example of how they go above and beyond in their hospitality.

➏ Take a stroll in Kastellet. You can feel the history of these grounds,  I sure did!

➐ Go vintage shopping — I found a couple gems at Liafi Studio. The owner, Alex Liafi, brings a great selection of authenticity, originality, and style. I loved this Brooks Brothers cardigan and Linda Farrow shades.

➑ Dine at Cock’s & Cows — this place has been voted BEST burgers in town and for all the right reasons. Start off with one of their specialty cocktails and order enough to share! See the full experience here.

Experience WIP — Inside of Hotel SP34 — this gem is a true travelers experience. It’s a 4 course meal chosen by the chef paired with a glass of wine for each— at the end of the meal you get to vote for your favorite course!

➒ Visit the gardens! We came across Ørsteds Park ❀ the greenery is almost like something out of a fairy tale.

➓ The canal tours — 60 minutes of a nice relaxing boat ride — sightseeing some of Copenhagen’s historic architecture while listening to the history to it.

The streets there are full of life, bars, food, and ice cream!

This ice cream shop a had a line out its door — they even make their own cones inside and with so much pure flavor it’s no surprise that this is a must experience!
