Courage‬ is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others. — Winston Churchill

An historic agreement was reached between Iran and the United states, along with five other world powers, that would eliminate economic sanctions for a peaceful nuclear agreement:

Iran would reduce its stockpile of low-enriched uranium by 98% and significantly scale back its number of installed centrifuges, according to the plan. In exchange, the United States and the European Union would lift sanctions that have crippled the country’s economy.

So far, this announcement has been met with great celebrations in Tehran and other cities as the citizens believe that their lives are about to get much better.

One of the unexpected benefits is that many Persian women have taken to the streets, removed their hijabs, or head scarfs, taken photos and uploaded them to social media sites as a declaration of their new-found freedoms.

As a proud Persian I am loving the courage these ladies are showing to bring back what was the norm in Iran years ago — which didn’t include hijabs or strict rules. Iran used to be a free country of trends, styles, joy, and beautiful scenery.

That changed quickly when the Shah was overthrown in 1979 and the government became a strict dictatorship. Horrible things have happened but thankfully we are starting to see change and these women are just the beginning of it.
