Fashion Week 2014 has officially started in NYC and I couldn’t be more excited to share this experience with you! My first show was at Pier 59 Studios in Chelsea where they presented Wildfox’s Fall 2014 collection: Sense & Eccentricity!

Fall 2014 comprises a mixture of Wildfox core styles with newer period-influenced designs. Intentionally layered silhouettes speak to the girl with autonomous style who feels confident and sexy in dressing for herself.

Wlidfox is a vintage inspired closet for the dreamers, founded in Los Angeles, and one of my favorite brands. They’re known for “iconic campaigns, dreamlike quality, and clothes that tell a story.”

This year’s Fall 2014 collection was inspired by “Jane Austen, 18th century England, and sisters.”

I have always found such relief in Jane Austen’s fantasy world! A happy ending, romance and drama: I often wish real life were that way. [Austen] provides the perfect escapism and I think our brand gives off that feeling as well.

kelly cultroneKelly Cutrone from People’s Revolution explained the “cool and relaxed vibes” played a big factor in the production and she was on point! As I arrived, I was greeted by cupcake shaped Rice Crispy treats with frosting and rose designs matching the collections theme. It’s a great way to start the show by taking away the usual norm about the diet habits of fashion week.

The room was filled with excitement, curiosity, and chatter. Typically what goes on in my head 75% of the time; but as soon as the lights dimmed and music, by Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis, started all iPhones went up and the focus was on the fashion.

The models rocked beautiful pieces looking comfortable on the catwalk. I loved that each girl had a different hairstyle, thanks to Prive, and all were accessorized with fresh flowers by Flower Girl Los Angeles. Founder Kelsey Harper rocked one of the sweetest outfits during the private after party at the Penthouse of the Mondrian Hotel in SoHo.

What you can benefit most from Wildfox is that each piece is designed to fit your everyday wardrobe.

So here are more details about the collection:

True Blue denim washes offer a vintage balance to the airy pastels and chunky sweater knits and when combined, create a perfect downtown chic look for fall.

Fall is a great wardrobe somewhere between Winter and Spring because it means not all is lost. As long as you have some place to pack it away, you can still hold on to some of the cute sweaters and knits you bought during the freezing cold. Mostly, during the Winter we layer a lot so Fall is a great excuse to showcase some of those hidden gems you were covering up to stay warm.

Stand out prints used throughout the range are Austin Rose and Engish toile, which cover sweaters, skirts, intimates, denim jackets and jeans. Picturesque gardens, cloudy skies and breathtaking countryside motifs are sublimated onto jumpers and sweater dresses, while several more cheeky graphics include an egg & bacon smiley face, reversible Night Before/Morning After, and Mrs. Darcy.
