Wednesday Wisdom: 15 Empowering Quotes from Women Who Dare → Part I

It’s these women who inspire me. Who uplift me. And make me proud to be a woman! One that aspires to make a positive impact like they have…

These are a collection of quotes from women who have dared. Women who continue making an influential impact in our world by challenging our perception and standing up to what they feel is right

And let’s be honest, being a woman in this day and age can be a sensitive subject. We are strong enough to raise a family while managing our day job. But there are still controversies on whether or not we can make legal choices about our own bodies. Or even be the president of the United States.

I guess no one told ’em, girls run the world.

Side note → a list of female world leaders — past, present, and future — a list made in 2015.

Since it’s no surprise that we’ve been living in times where women are still fighting for their rights, for a voice, and the ability to make our own decisions. → Here are some strong words by empowering women who took it upon themselves to raise their voice for a greater cause:

I was raised to believe that excellence is the best deterrent to racism or sexism. And that’s how I operate my life. — Oprah Winfrey

We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as women and take the lead. — Beyoncé

I do this because women who have strong identities inspire me. As beauty is not flawless → your flaws are part of what makes you beautiful. And that too shines through.

If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman. — Margaret Thatcher

A strong woman understands that the gifts such as logic, decisiveness, and strength are just as feminine as intuition and emotional connection. She values and uses all of her gifts. —Nancy Rathburn

In addition, here is one of my favorites from the original blogger of all time Mrs. Roosevelt. Because of her passion, Eleanor made it a point to write every single day for her local newspaper.

A woman is like a tea bag—you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. —Eleanor Roosevelt

I’m tough, I’m ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay. ―Madonna

A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men. ― Gloria Steinem

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass. — Maya Angelou

I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard…we cannot succeed when half of us are held back. ― Malala Yousafzai

But here’s on from a great poet and writer G.D. Anderson — a he — and a damn smart one too:

Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength. — G.D. Anderson

Women are always saying, ‘We can do anything that men can do.’ But Men should be saying, ‘We can do anything that women can do. — Gloria Steinem

You don’t have to be pretty. You don’t owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don’t owe it to your mother, you don’t owe it to your children, you don’t owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked female. — Erin McKean

Because I believe there is beauty in us all it cannot be defined, there isn’t a single definition that sums it up or categorizes it. Therefore, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder — perception. Because our own perception is so unique, it comes in all forms.

A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman. — Melinda Gates

Another great one → the woman who flew around the globe and maybe even further — who really knows. Amelia Earhart did more than just talk her walk. She dared to be what she wanted to be. Because she was a huge contributor to the stereotype of women in skirts. Got mocked a lot for wearing pants → but whose laughing now?!

Women, like men, should try to do the impossible, and when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others. — Amerlia Earhart

Though if I could change anything about her quote above, it would be not “when they fail” but “if” ….

When a man gives his opinion, he’s a man. When a woman gives her opinion, she’s a bitch. ― Bette Davis

So what do we say to someone who can’t handle our opinion?

Not ToDay.
