ISIS does NOT Represent Islam. Want Proof?

ISIS does NOT Represent Islam. Want Proof?

There is a common perception among many, including a certain Presidential candidate, that terrorism, and more specifically ISIS, acts on behalf of and represents Islam as a form of “Radical Islam.” This notion is wrong.

ISIS claimed responsibility for destroying the Prophet Muhammed’s Mosque and resting place near the end of Ramadan. The holiest man at the holiest time for Islam.

Ramadan is supposed to be a time for celebration — yet a clan that calls themselves ISIS has killed many Muslims and destroyed important parts of their cities.

ISIS has said to have bombed the Prophet’s Mosque and resting place, a site he built with his own two hands, in Medina. The second holiest site in Islam. This Mosque was also the tomb of the Prophet Muhammed (عليه سلام) as well as the remains of the first two caliphs of Sunni Islam.

How can one associate the Islamic culture to ISIS when they damage, kill, and destroy Muslims most?

The scale of the carnage inflicted by extremists over the past week alone has been staggering. Just some of the bloodiest attacks: more than 200 killed by a truck bomb in a crowded Baghdad market; 44 killed at an airport in Istanbul, Turkey; 23 killed in a siege of a café in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I don’t believe that ISIS follows Islamic ways:

Terrorism is above all murder. Murder is strictly forbidden in the Qur’an.

… and do not kill a soul that God has made sacrosanct, save lawfully.

— Qur’an 6:151

Eid is a time of the year Muslims feel most connected to their religion. A religion that urges you to not harm others. The Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts:

Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them. Instead, accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong (even) if they do evil.

In an article on OccupyDemocrats.com by Colin Taylor — explains it perfectly when he writes:

The terrorists of Daesh (ISIS/ISIL/IS) have proven once and for all that they are nothing but nihilistic sadists with today’s triple bombings in Saudi Arabia. A suicide bomber exploded at the Al-Masjid an-Nabawī – or the Prophet’s Mosque, in the Saudi city of Medina, killing at least four and injuring many more. Bombings also hit mosques in the cities of Qatif and Jeddah.

The Prophet’s Mosque is the second holiest site in Islam. It was built by the Prophet’s own hands and houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammed (عليه سلام) and the remains of the first two caliphs of Sunni Islam. For the so-called “Islamic terrorists” of Daesh to strike at such a target should prove to the world once and for all that the “religious” motivation that American conservatives and Islamophobes around the world love to obsess over is nothing but a smokescreen.

Here are 9 more reasons why the Islamic Law forbids Terrorism!

Terrorism is about power and money…. All of these crimes were committed in the week leading up to the end of Ramadan, when the festival of Eid is celebrated around the world. Many of the victims in Baghdad’s marketplace bombings were women and children, buying gifts for their families to be given on Eid.

ISIS is not my Islam. My Islam taught me to love and be kind.
