‘We Are Not Separated by Religion’ // Muslims Shield Christians During an Attack

With the new year approaching, I’m already making resolutions and one of them is to tune into the news more. In light of that, CNN just posted a story that took a positive spin from something unfortunate. Bravo.

In Kenya, Al-Shabaab militants (a Somali group of extremists) attacked a bus carrying Christian passengers. The Muslim passengers interfered and shielded the Christians and told the Islamic militant to kill them all or leave them alone, witnesses said. Refusing to separate, the gunmen left. But when Al-Shabaab militants ambushed a bus Monday, things didn’t go according to plan. A group of Kenyan Muslims shielded the Christian passengers and told the attackers they were prepared to die together. The Muslim passengers who were mostly women told the Islamic militants to “kill them together, or leave them alone,” witnesses told CNN affiliate NTV.
