Visit the Jungle in NYC with Hotel Giraffe // For Travelers & Staycations

Hey Doosts! I love sharing the unique treasures I discover around the world with you, and even more so the gems in my own backyard: Manhattan!

Lately, WtD travel blogger Kelley Louise, from the Culture Collective, and I have been getting a lot of questions about where to stay while traveling to New York. So we are on a mission to bring you our top picks and this week we started with one of the Library Hotel Collection‘s safari gems. I welcome you to Hotel Giraffe ♡ an urban oasis of sophisticated style!

Hotel Giraffe offers a unique experience that over time many establishments have forgotten to display. The hotel is in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan near Madison Park, The Flatiron Building, Eataly, and the 230 Fifth Rooftop Garden.

Upon arriving at the Hotel Giraffe, I was greeted with a smile. The vibe felt so comfortable and welcoming. Check-in was easy, the gentleman reminded me of their 5-8pm complimentary happy hour with various cheeses and wines, access to refreshments all day, as well as their continental breakfast in the morning. Every guest is invited to partake in:

  • Continental buffet breakfast
  • Selection of coffee, tea, cookies and fruit throughout the day
  • Wine & cheese receptions from 5 PM – 8 PM
  • Free wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel
  • Free passes to nearby New York Sports Club
I’m a wine & cheese kind of lady so my expectations are fancy.  There were various selections of fancy cheeses. I love Gouda and Brie and they had that and more with crackers, olives, vegetables, sweets, and delicious wine!

There are many reasons why someone should stay at a particular place but the 3 most important to me are comfort, hospitality, and location. Hotel Giraffe won my heart on all 3 counts!

Our room was very spacious, with wonderful trinkets and comfortable beds. We even had a balcony!
The staff here is great too! As I sat in the lobby working on some WtD posts I overheard them going above and beyond for their guests. Then there was music and as I looked up I was greeted by a piano player and then I knew it was time to switch over from my caffè macchiato to wine!

After some wine and cheese we headed up to the rooftop to admire the view.

During warmer days, the rooftop opens up to a bar and lounge.

We ended the night with room service from Bread & Tulips, a unique rustic Italian menu inspired by “the regional diversity of Italy and features handmade pastas and pizzas, in addition to traditional antipasti, crostini etc.”
