What are the things that give us happiness? I always like to know where everyone comes from, what is their motive in this life? What are the things they find beautiful? -Carlos Rodriguez
The world is changing and so are many people’s perspective. With the aid of technology and media outlets, our future is transforming into a world with less stereotypes and acceptance of unique individuality. It’s with the push of creative forces like Dominican Republic artist Carlos Rodrigues and model Rain Dove Dubilewski who show us ‘a whole new world.’ (Disney Aladdin pun intended).

For this particular photoshoot I was inspired to do “The Little Prince.” I was drawn to Rain’s beauty and how she transgresses gender. More than that, I admire how she seeks to engage people in appreciating the full spectrum of gender. -CR
I photograph the queer-identified community in my country (the Dominican Republic) to raise awareness and visibilize the matter. People drive me. The way people express themselves. That’s one of the things that draws me to human beings. -CR
Those are the things that motivate me, that make me want to photograph and do film, to tell stories. I guess that’s where my inspiration starts. -CR
