what is ny tech day

Since 2012, NYTD has shined its light on the coolest and newest technology from gadgets to apps. Catering to solve basic problems to help make a task more accessible. After all, timing is everything and the future of technology is now.

I sat with co-founders Alec Hartman and Jesse Podell to talk Tech Day’s beginnings, outcomes, helping towards a good cause, sponsors, how you can be part of it, What the Doost, and more!! Listen in =)

At the premier NYTD in 2012 I was an exhibitor with MatchPuppy.com, the precurser to Fitbark. Since then, I’m so proud to see its rapid growth and I’m not surprised. There was a need waiting to be filled. NYTD is all about helping others reach to the top!

…with more than 450 exhibitors, 10,000 attendees, and over $20 billion in capital represented. Last year, of the 400+ companies that attended, 73% came to TechDay with the intention of hiring for a combined 982 open positions.

Some of my favorites included fashion, beauty, and wellness apps. I loved the concepts of urBin, bitemyapple.co, Web Thrift Store, and Intsa Trade.

Insticator might be my newest guilty pleasure while I patiently wait for next week’s favorite television episode. Insticator is a site where you can make predictions about TV shows, get rewards, and even watch along to see if your prediction came true. I got a cool quick trial and won a gift certificate to ProFlowers, just in time for Mother’s Day. I briefly spoke to Founder & CEO Zack Dugow who was smiling ear to ear explaining the process of the creation.

I was impressed with Signal by SiblyVision, it provides instant alerts about what’s important to you. I spoke with founder and developer Peter Kazazes who told me he initially created Sibly to predict markets and elections.

Today, people use social media to break scandals and talk about products they’re buying. Real-time has never been more powerful. Singal is the first live and mobile marketing tool targeted for social media.
