Your Guide to the Biggest Moon You’ve Ever Seen on November 14th

Oh hey there doosts! Some pretty amazing things are hapening — despite the horrible election outcome which has my Facebook feed in a frenzy. But no matter where you swing → we’ll all be exposed to the most super SuperMoon that’s happening this Monday November 14, 2016. This means …

The moon will be the biggest & brightest it has been in nearly 68 years.

If you only see one astronomical event this year, make it the November supermoon, when the Moon will be the closest to Earth it’s been since January 1948. During the event, the Moon will appear up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than an average full moon. This is the closest the Moon will get to Earth until November 2034, so you really don’t want to miss this one 🌚

What makes this one special is that the moon is going to be even closer to the Earth than it normally gets, making it a tiny bit bigger than even your average supermoon.

As 11/11 is pretty damn special — so is this knowledge. Here are some pretty cool scientific and spiritual things to know about the Supermoon ↓ but first you may ask …

Will this affect me? This is a phenomenon that occurs. Many people have their thoughts and some may say → the affect reaches farther than life on Earth.

What Science Says:

So let’s talk scientific outcomes and all. Since our bodies contain 75% water — many science lovers believe the Supermoon will affect us too, as it does the sea with its tides. But many professionals in the science community say otherwise. Basically, ❝ girl, you trippin’

Here’s what we know:

  • Supermoon full moonThe gravitational pull between the moon and sun on either side of Earth during full or new moon phases causes a drastic increase in tides. Since the moon will be CLOSER than normal, it will INCREASE the pull from the gravity of the moon.
  • Larry Sessions from EarthSky.com says our bodies are, in fact, affected by this gravitational pull, but the effect is “infinitesimally small and irrelevant.” (or is it?)
  • In terms of effects that we can easily notice, the night’s sky will be BRIGHTER, so you can play outside without a flashlight in many places. When light travels, it expands in a cone shape, so when the sun is closer to the moon, more light bounces off, and then the moon is closer to the Earth, so even more light is directed back to us. So we can play outside at night.

What the Spiritual World Says:

You’re going to turn into a werewolf.

… okay I’m kidding, but so are some other sites sooooo don’t fall for it, againツ

This is what the spiritual expert Krista from Self-ish Lifestyle says:

❝ A full moon certainly affects us humans as it does the tides of the ocean. Just as the earth is about 70% of water so are we humans. Hence the heightened emotions during full moon nights. If you are in a low vibrational state → such as anger, fear, guilt, anxiety, etc. During a full moon these emotions can balloon up but don’t fret, this is when the full moon can help.

Just as the tides are pulled towards the moons gravity so can your emotions so surrender and release and take full advantage of this cosmic phenomenon.

Doesn’t it feel nice just to let go and have other avenues of help? Now this Supermoon is amplified to its highest so go, meditate, and rejuvenate. ❞ — Krista Nerestant

Science and spirituality both say it’s pretty cool that this is happening. So be your own judge and take a moment to gaze up at the moon in awe. Embrace the moment and share it with someone special.

If you’re really cool → watch the moon set at 7:30 am after the sun rise at 6:30 ☼ They’re be on opposite sides of the sky!

→ it’s never easy but always worth it.
