One of my favorite days in NYFW ♥
Dan Liu showcased a brilliant collection with the most elegant performance.
Arriving at the Skylight Clarkson was refreshing — the staff always greets me with a friendly smile and they really go out of their way to fuel us with necessities like coffee, pastries, lounges, and charging stations. The phone services kinda sucks and the wifi is slowed by the glittering attendees snapping, graming, and live streaming. I took this opportunity to put down my iPhone and mingle!
For today’s #OOTD — I turned to this one of a kind, handcrafted piece by Ilona Oltuski. This illumination has no filter! The Harlequin (or in German, “Harlekin”) pendant is Rive Gauche Jewelry’s first original creation, made of diamonds and sapphires, mounted in an 18-Karat yellow and white gold setting, complete with yellow gold link chain. I couldn’t quite snap a clear pic because it simply glowed so strongly. What a fun and beautiful piece.
After some iced coffee to get me going, I entered the gallery to be greeted by roses on each seat. Nice touch
Dan Liu.
One of the things I love to experience every season are the venues upgrades and the ways designers put creative spins on their runway performances. I must admit, Dan Liu is a winner and it’s not just because of the roses, but because of the Parisian elegance he showcased. His collection: New Path.
Because of his involvement with the performance and of course sippin’ on his espresso like a G. The show started with a model walking out, greeting us, and taking a seat at the cafe table in the corner — when the collection walked out — so did Dan Liu, taking his seat at the cafe table.
The show started with tunes of French melodies filling the room — in a pitch black setting — the sound of Paris took over and gave me chills.
Parisian
My favorite dress from the collection is this beautiful black and laced gown ↓
His collection displayed an array of Soft palates — some models seemed to have been kissed by a butterfly. It was very sweet. A breeze of lace, floral, and minimal bling swayed by.
I loved the subtle shimmer some of these fabrics illuminated with movement. Lately I’ve been in that confusing minimalistic yet sparkly and oh so Parisian mode. Looks like Dan Liu has been too.
Although I’m not a fan of the material used for the bags — sorry, I know it’s environmental friendly and all or so I’ve been told — I do however like the shape of them. Best I’ve seen so far. So to that, Bravo.
The choice of heels was on point too — very elegant, sophistical, and also seemed comfortable. Tip: it’s all in the platform!
What an elegant performance. I can’t wait to see more of Dan Liu and his incredible vision.
