Dom Streater Presents ROYALS at NYFW Fall/Winter 2015 Collection
Dom Streater creates an intimate setting that I would love to see practiced more with designers and shows. You may remember DS as the winner of Project Runway Season 12. This time she ‘made it work’ for the 4th time at New York Fashion Week. She even came out after the show and shared her gratitude for the audience, sponsors and team in a joyful speech. She later told WtD her inspiration; a combination of royal dynasties.
Percussive hip-hop beats started off the show and first model out was Sydney, a.k.a. ‘Stink’ from Nellyville, Nelly’s niece, who also had her family’s support there.
Designed and produced in Philadelphia, the collection focuses on utilizing the clean and simple lines of wardrobe staples and infuses them with modern graphic prints.

The collection reminds me of Beyonce fierce meets Kanye extreme and I’m loving it! Each model wore Velodyne headphones in black, white and some gold. I’m all about it! The patterns are chic, detailed, and consistent. I love the open space and natural light, NYFW needs more of that. Gorgeous seems to be what I hear a lot from the crowd and I couldn’t agree more.
Speaking to the models and designer was a delight! One of the most anticipated moments of the show was being able to discuss the inspiration that fueled the collection. Both androgynous models, Cory Wade and Rain Dove Dubilewski, graced the stage and agreed that DS brings fashion forward! Ade Jaiye was one of my favorite looks and beamed on and off the catwalk.
The style didn’t end on the catwalk, they even brought it through Premis Beverages with mixologist chef Adrian Harrow with a couple of his signature recipes.
