NY Fashion Week 2015 Kicks off with Victor de Souza! *Backstage access*
Celebrity designer Victor de Souza kicked off the New York Fashion Week Spring 2015 experience tonight, September 3rd. Let me show you around with backstage access, designer interview, front row seats and more.
The collection is futuristic 80’s feel; basically an elegant lady stranded in Hawaii.

Still there’s more, there’s unity:
When I discovered everyone is related to albino genetics I thought it would be interesting to see how we could translate that oneness and unity into fashion.
-Victor de Souza
Voila! The models are transformed into all white looks from the hair on their heads (wigs) to the their eye lashes and even synchronizing one shade contact lenses.
Victor de Souza talks inspiration:
The idea is a kind of elegance. I wanted to make it light (hence the light silk), with continuous body yet heroic. I played with soft colors that are pure, I wanted to eliminate warmth by tapping into the New Yorker shades even the red is a cold red.”
Backstage is sparkling with glamour, style, and big blond hair. Yes it’s back! And what a way to express it.
The models and team are all full of joy, chatter, and excitement. I’m loving the rows of Christian Louboutin‘s.
A group of models, including two of my favorites: the lovely “Breaking Amish” star Kate Stoltz and androgynous super model Rain Dove Dubilewski, get escorted out to meet their awaiting carriage at Central Park, the location leading up has been kept private because of all the controversy over the horses. While I hurry in to take my seat, I walk into a fully packed venue with lines out the building with more anticipated guests eager to share this inspiring experience. The crowd is all smiles and chatter.
The runway is covered with silk satin, bold prints, lace, cashmere, and ohhh all the things I love getting into my closet. I admire most the precise details of the collection.
The 80’s inspired ‘elegant woman stranded in Hawaii’ collection is a SUCCESS!
