New York Pet Fashion Show
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
― Roger A. Caras
On Friday night, the world of fashion turned its eyes to our furry friends for the New York Pet Fashion Show at the historic Hotel Pennsylvania and The Doost was there to play with the pups and watch them strut.
As the appetizer to the world famous Westminster Dog Show which takes place Monday and Tuesday, February 10-11, the fashion show was a fun way to get the dog party started!
Mixing two of my most favorite things, puppies and sparkles. The dogs were dressed up in fun and creative contents and this time their owners were their accessories. The night was filled with fun, but a lot of good was done too. One of the greater causes of the event lies in their ability to help find homes for rescue dogs. This cute puppy had me at ‘Hello.’
We got a chance to run into a few of our favorite pooches including the famous Bocker the Labradoodle, Mr. America the giant Leonberger, and Tito, the Louis Vuitton shoe wearing Pomeranian.
Bocker is an old friend that I met back at Pet Hack-a-thon sponsored by Mashable and it’s been a pleasure keeping tabs on his activities. You may have seen him in print ads for Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, movies such as War of the Worlds and Eat Pray Love, on The View, and much more.
I caught up with Bocker and asked him a few questions:
Doost: What were you wearing at the Fashion show?
Bocker: An outfit by Ada Nieves inspired in Louis XVI son…Louis Charles Dauphin of France.
Doost: What projects do you have coming up?
Bocker: Just have a commercial shoot coming up. Am really focusing all my efforts on the work I do with children and disabled.
Doost: What platforms are you promoting?
Bocker: I am a constant figure in Sandy Hook, CT…visiting and comforting the children. I work weekly with severely disabled young people…again bringing smiles and lots of kisses. Preparing for 2014 NYS Animal Advocacy Day of which I am the SpokesDog…this will be May 28 in Albany, NY.
What an inspiration! Follow Bocker on Facebook or go to his website www.bocker.tv
Mr. America has also been a busy guy as he wore his crown high at the fashion show before finishing as 2nd runner up at the Doggies and Tiaras pageant in Manhattan. The big event is Monday when he competes at the Westminster Dog Show! Good Luck Mr. America! Follow him on Facebook!
Tito stole my heart from the moment I laid eyes on him rocking his Louis Vuitton sneakers. I had to chase him down and take a picture with him. His owner Jorge Bendersky wrote DIY Dog Grooming, From Puppy Cuts to Best in Show: Everything You Need to Know, Step by Step which you should check out.
There were so many cute pups. Check out some of my other favorites below. Woof!
Great to be at such a fine event !
