Dare Mighty Things
“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
– Theodore Roosevelt
Roosevelt was a wise man with humble ways. Reading his stories and quotes inspires me. I believe this quote stands strong because it means that the best kind of life is lived with passion of both kinds: the passion for good and bad moments. Sometimes we realize the things we love the most when we don’t have them any more. Because of the loss we truly realize the value of the gain. From what was to what is, experiencing sad and happy times. I believe this concept exists and is important in our dreams and in their outcomes.
We are going to have good moments and we are going to have bad moments, we just need to make sure the good moments outweigh the bad ones.
It’s okay to fail, actually it’s encouraged! Why? Because it says you have tried, and every time your try you are one step closer to your goal! Roosevelt says that, “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure…” Maybe it’s true that a great person experiences far more failures than he does successes. It’s great to do something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Go out and follow your dreams. It’s ok if you fail. Get back up and try again.
