Eden in Chicago, A Doughnut Haven
Our trip to Chicago was one of a kind. Chicagoland feels like a perfect blend of city and suburbs with a dose of southern hospitality.
One of our favorite new discovered brunch restaurants is Eden, located in downtown Chicago at 1748 West Lake St. After hearing some hype about Eden, we were duly impressed with the freshness, creativity, and flavor.
We started with a strong triple shot cappuccino and latte over a bowl of fresh fruits and the daily special of their famous homemade doughnuts.

We grow as much as we can in our onsite urban garden, and carefully select local, seasonal ingredients for the rest.
The doughnuts are quite an experience – so good that the Michelin chefs follow Eden’s Instagram account for the latest as their creativity is constantly updating. Yes they look beautiful, but they taste like happy childhood memories. Our daily special doughnut was strawberry glazed with coco puffs and they even spelled out “Happy Birthday Eva” in donuts with candles for a birthday girl!
To my avocado lovers, Chicago has no shortage and the chefs at Eden create a unique classic with their Grilled Avocado Eggs Benedict. You have the option to add a protein and as Jeff chose bacon, I asked for their homemade chicken sausage. These small disc-shaped sausages are love and my mouth is salivating with the memory of them.
The ambience at Eden is simple yet cultured at the same time. The place is big and it feels like you stepped into someone’s home. The layout feels open from the kitchen to the bar, seatings, with an option for a private dining room. The decoration is minimal with elements of Mother Nature all around. Every corner of the place was filled with laughter from frozen rosé cheers at the bar to birthday celebrations, family outings, and casual dates over delicious food happening all around.
