The Benefits of a Juice Cleanse
Recently, Jeff and I took on a 3-day cleanse with the help from our friends at Pure Green — after suffering food poisoning from what probably was from the white chocolate cookies and cream cookie dough — we shared one cookie raw (okay, probably a lot more, but we thought that was a myth!) amongst 3 people and suffered tremendously :/ so a cleanse was in order and it had to be from a fresh, organic, and trusted source.
- Getting the right nutrients into our system — we still crave those nutrients and have been eating much healthier since.
- An increase of vegetable and fruit cravings & intake we still maintain after the cleanse — my mom would be so proud!
- Improvement in energy and healthier decision making
- Maintaining portion control — I’ve fallen under the category of overeating and with the portions we’re served these days it’s hard to tell when to stop. Juicing helped give me a natural ‘that’s enough’ instinct.
#1 Green CoCo
Always felt like the right way to start my day — with lots of nutrients from vegetables and the coconut water gave it an extra sweet kick with plenty of nutrients.
#2 Pure Greens
Pure Greens comes in a few different variety that mix and match the base greens of kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, zucchini, and romaine with some sweet flavors including apple, lemon, + ginger. A nice transition juice leading the progression towards higher natural fructose drinks
#3 Coconut Hydrate
This is one of Pure Green founder Ross Franklin’s favorites and I’m all on board! The chia seeds in this drink helped energize me and I’m such a pineapple kind of girl. Love the flavor!
#4 Pure Watermelon
This drink got me through my days! Between my empty stomach and the heat, I have this delicious watermelon drink to thank for hydrating me.
#5 Rockin Beet
By the time you’ve reached juice 5 of the day, you’re approaching night time and the combo of beets, carrots, apples, and more helped bring a delicious boost to the homestretch of the day.
#6 Soul Kick
Every night we ended our cleanse with the sweet combinations of apple, pineapple, lemon, ginger — turning it into our well earned ‘dessert.’
