ROCHAMBEAU: New York Inspired by Cali

One of my favorite presentations at MILK Studios during NYFW SS 2015 was ROCHAMBEAU. I loved seeing the Cali vibe on New York premises and I absolutely was impressed by the designers efforts to step up their presentation with a show including a dance off during the last ten minutes of the show. The models were brilliant and my favorite was the use of their androgynous super model Rain Dove Dubilewski walking in ROCHAMBEAU’s male attire.

During the show, designer Laurence and I spoke about the collection’s inspiration.

This collection is inspired by Cali, we wanted to transform that vibe into New York standards and show how we do it here!

He goes on to explain the use of colors, light fabrics for comfort, and how they translated that Cali style into “urban beach,” which they shot in Rockaway.
