Behind The Scenes with Matthew Comer, International Fashion Photog.

Meet award-winning international fashion and travel photographer Matt Comer. He seeks adventure and he’ll be your next best friend. Whenever we’re behind the scenes with an artist, we experience a true form of history in the making. Art is expressed in many cultural ways and the best begin with the right intentions, to create something for others that’s worth enjoying and remembering. He adds to his extended family on the way and brings them along for the ride!

We’re pulling people up with us!

He has a way of intertwining the best of both worlds, living his version of ‘the dream.’

I admire many of his different styles of shooting. He’s collaborated with greats like Pharell, Nike, and is the official photographer for British Route 66 and Supply & Demand.matthew comer

Most impressive, is his ability to connect with his subjects and carry a team through the process. He is an ‘in the moment’ kind of man and the shit he says is hilarious! One of his most favorite mottos is:

Yea, sure.

Comer and his comrade model Dimetri Hogan aka Mich (Me-esh), the Creative Director, explain that these are the moments when someone asks you to do something spontaneous and if it takes you longer than a few seconds to think about why not to do it, then the answer is always, “Yea, sure.”

Which led us to the adventure in the comic book store!

We followed him on a top secret mission. Just kidding!! But WtD got the exclusive!! Following Matthew Comer and his team on a collaborative journey of how he makes magic happen!!

To be able to {take these photos for free and make money off big companies}is awesome, to create friends in different cities and different countries and be able to go anywhere at any time…and if I was just out for myself trying to make money off all these people, you’d have a lot less friends…

His advice:

Be creative and work. Being photographers, you don’t have to spend all your money on hiring studios. Use your mom and dad’s landing, or hallway or whatever, cuz that’s what I do and I’m getting paid for it.

Comer dropped a lot of exclusives! Covering projects with business partner Lee Barber for COMER: “We worked our asses off for years!”

It didn’t take long for this duo to spread their wings and be in demand! A year after the official launch in 2011 the requests were pouring in. To read more about it, click HERE.

We held an exhibition in Manchester, then everyone wanted to work with us.

Their forthcoming exhibitions and editorials are exciting rare footage entitled “Blvd, Wonderland, Dunes.” Including ‘Worst Behavior,’ which follows adventures of most of Matt’s subjects, friends, and family after work into the party scene.

Their newest project is ‘flashing lights,’ which Matt describes as “A collection based of models all around the word.”

For more on this keep your eye out for his book, “COME.R”
