How to Make the Healthiest & Most Delicious Persian Salad Shirazi
Food is best at its freshest! And one of my favorites is the most famous Persian style salad, the Shirazi.
The dish can be served in many ways. But the key ingredients are cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. My mom taught me to add many fresh herbs to the dish for nutrients and taste! Cilantro, mint, and my favorite: dill. The idea is to dice them small, so every ingredient is tasted in every bite. The dressing is lemon juice, freshly squeezed, and a hint of diced or ground garlic (optional). Add salt & pepper as your taste buds like.
The prep time is less than 10 minutes. And healthy in every way!!
The dish is served great as a side and will get a lot of attention. Don’t under-estimate the amount. From experience, people eat more of this than expected. If any is left over, I like to drain the dressing before transferring it into a container for the next day. This way the ingredients don’t get ruined by being soaked and soggy in the lemon juice dressing.
